This morning I had to get up bright and early, 4:30am to be exact. A couple of friends and I decided that we were going to head out to Wellington point to try our hand at fishing. A good friend of mine, Shubham orchestrated this whole ordeal and it would be the last time we woud get to see our friend Ben before he went on an 8 week long holiday to the States. Sidenote: if you're interested in seeing what that might look like, they've actually started a blog to document their trip. We arrived at "Wello" at around 5:45am which in hindsight might have been a bit too late. There was a light drizzle when we got there however we decided to walk out and get set up anyway. As soon as we were all the way out, it literally bucketed down. We very quickly found an undercover area and decided to wait it out.
Once the rain subsided we finally were able to cast a line. The night before Ka had organised an esky full of stuff for us to take! Sandwiches, cookies, oranges, cola and the list goes on! So once we had a few lines in the water we had some sandwiches and started to wake up and get settled. I actually didn't have a fishing rod with me so Shubham and I took turns with his. While Shubham was fishing I decided to have a play with some of the camera equipment we picked up last weekend.
Today I was using a 5D mk2 with a 70-200mm f2.8, amazing lens! I really enjoy playing with light and I really hate post production so I generally don't edit any of my photos. While I was messing around with light, Shubham made the first and only catch of the day! Ben and I were desperate at this stage to catch something but we eventually called it and said our goodbye's around 10am
Very cool morning, I really enjoyed getting up early and being able to watch the sunrise and talk nonsense was actually really great.
