And by falling, we certainly mean the waterfall type! We headed out on an impromptu trip to Kondalilla Falls around midday on Saturday, it was such a perfect day! The Kondalilla National Park is about a 1.5hr drive from Brisbane located in the Sunshine Coast hinterlands around Montville. On Friday night we finally added some more camera equipment to our collection (potentially unnecessary some may say, but we sure are happy hipsters at the moment) so by Saturday morning we were just dying to try it all out! We drove along Steve Irwin Way and stopped for some snaps on the way. Then we arrived at the falls and prepared for the hike down. We ventured down a nice 1km track and decided not to go to the rock pools but instead venture much further to the bottom of the falls. There were a few people around but the track from the rock pools to the base of the falls was pretty much deserted. We stopped and took a bunch of photos (see above for some of our favourites), got to the bottom, turned around and began the not so enjoyable ascent.
The whole adventure took us roughly around 3hrs and it was great to get away from the hustle and bustle of Brisbane and enjoy what is now a rare day of sunshine in Queensland!
